Litt om Motoko Tokugawas historie


TOKUGAWA FAMILIEN

FACTS:
Motoko Tokugawa b. Toda in Tokyo 29.mai 1907 of parents Count Ujihide Toda og Countes Yoneko Toda. Grandfather: Count Ujitaka Toda, who served as the first Ambassador for Japan to Austria in the period of 1887 -1889. Toda family was the Lord of Ohigaki provinse under Edo time 1603-1867.
Motoko was educated at The Imperial School in the years of 1913 -1924.

Motoko married 16.april 1926 with Count Satonari Tokugawa.

Tokugawa family high days was ended after 200 years of ruling time in Japan. The family was then fraction up in different branches and then the once so powerful family went back to an ordinary life, but still remembered and honored of the Japanese people.
Motoko-san, was the last arestocrate of here generation. Here children of today dosent have that privilage.

Motoko-san og Roy i Tokyo 1969


Sommeren 1969 var jeg i Tokyo, på besøk hos Motoko-san.

Motoko gifter seg med Satonan Tokugawa 1926


Kledd i bryllupsdrakt etter keiserlige manerer. Bryllupet sto 16 april 1926.

Bestefaren Toda Ujitaka var Japans første ambassadør til Østerike. En av mange ordner han fikk var Victoriakorset fra England. Ujitaka var Daimio ( fyrste)

Dette huset falt ned i det store jordskjelvet i Tokyo som var i Taisho 12 ( 1923). Det var moderne å bygge i vestelig stil omkring 1900
